Top 6: Beauty Products of the Week

The amount of beauty products out there can be overwhelming for all of us. From lip shades and shimmery shadows to remedies and target treatments, it's, WELL, alot. As a beauty obsessive gal who is constantly trying new skincare and makeup products, I'll be rounding up my top 6 must-haves once a week so that you don't have to do the leg work! Check back each week to find out which products should be on your radar next.

I'm so excited to share this week's Top 6 after getting such great feedback last week! The Top 6  Beauty will be a great segment because I've gone through more products than you can imagine trying to manage dry and sensitive skin and to tackle breakouts for once and for all. The last 6 months or so I've really been watching closely to how my skin responds to everything I put on my face and it's probably the first time in my life I'm actually happy with my skin. Here are the products I'm currently loving.

SKINMEDICA LYTERA 2.0 PIGMENT CORRECTING SERUM

I have been using the Lytera 2.0 Advanced Pigment Correcting Serum morning and night every day for the last 3 weeks and have noticed it has lightened my sunspots and scarring quite a bit. It's innovative formula works to remove the signs of skin discoloration that we get from sun exposure and bad breakouts. I put this on before my moisturizer and like that it's smooth to touch and applies in a thin layer to skin without a sticky feel that some others do. I've tried other lightening products and think this is the best one on the market.

Also note, for skincare products like this, I only purchase from Aesthetic & Laser Center, as they are an authorized skincare provider and that helps to ensure I don't end up with counterfeit products sold online for a discounted price. Better safe than sorry :)

MORPHE E6

This is hands down the best brush to apply all over powder. I love that it doesn't have a steep price tag and that it gives a flawless finish. The coverage is perfect and it lasts all day. Morphe sells a colossal amount of brushes so I'm glad I've found this one that works so well for that flawless finish.

NEUTROGENA HYDRO BOOST MASK

I love a good face mask but majority of the single use inexpensive masks at CVS, Target, Walgreens, etc are made up of questionable ingredients that I don't even want to mess with. I've never used any of them because I worry about the chemicals and cheap ingredients but I do love and trust Neutrogena so I decided to give this one a try. I picked up several of these hydrating gel masks and they are indeed hydrating. I like to have these on standby after a night out when I need that extra surge of hydration.

LIVING PROOF NIGHT CAP OVERNIGHT PERFECTOR

I put this overnight treatment mask in my hair every night before I get in bed to hydrate and treat the damage from heating tools and coloring my hair and I love that I don't have to rinse it out. Most mornings I notice I have more volume from it and no oils, like so many other serums and treatments do. By morning my hair looks shiny and healthy without leaving any oils on my pillow and over time has helped seal my split ends and made my hair fuller and more voluminous. Bonus points – it smells amazing.

RETINOL ANTI-AGING HAND CREAM

I discovered this hand lotion on The Teacher Diva and was so intrigued I ordered it on Amazon right away. I haven't used it long enough to tell a big difference but my hands look more hydrated and plump/less wrinkly when I use it so I keep it on my nightstand and apply it before bed every night.

IS CLINICAL CLEANSING COMPLEX

Copy of BEAUTY (8).png

I bought the IS Clinical wash in the summer after my favorite beauty blogger Marianna Hewitt (she included it in her Top 15 Items of 2017 and has been using it since she began blogging) swore by the skincare line. At the time I was breaking out really bad and noticed it was not clearing my breakouts so I shelfed it while I got my skin under control and recently brought it back. This time around, now that my skin is clear, it's helped to keep the breakouts at bay without drying my skin – my face also feels smoother and more firm when I use this. If you have acne-prone skin that is under control, meaning your face isn't driving you crazy with breakouts, then give this one a try!
