Trend Alert: Slides That Shine
The mule slides trend is having a major moment this Spring thanks to luxe embellishments and their effortless outfit-making appeal. The mules became wildly popular after Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele dropped the heel on their classic mule loafer and ever since designers and brands have reinvented the slip-on in trendy rich fabrics and textures.
For a more conservative, daytime look I am loving the pointy toe flats. My current favorites are the Marc Fisher's Shiloh flat mule and No.21's knotted satin pointy-toed flat paired with cigarette pant trousers and a relaxed white button up and tweed jacket thrown over the shoulders.
If I'm heading out with girlfriends or to a daytime event, I'll play up my footwear with a pair that has embellishments, prints or any kind of bold statement. I am in love with these satin knot slides from Mango – the color is rich and they're only $79. The Marli Huarache mules from Schutz are a perfect daytime flat – the texture lends a fashion-forward touch while still looking easy and effortless.
Knotted bows, bejeweled heels, silk jacquard, slick leather and everything in between – here are the mules and slides on my radar this Spring.
